Fantastic results all round, congratulations to our incredible Sixth Form students on their achievements this year!
Studying A Levels is always a challenging undertaking, but the class of 2023 find themselves in a unique position. After navigating a pandemic during the course of their studies, these A Level results mark the first set of formal, external examination results for this group of students. As we reflect upon their time with us, we are filled with immense pride. The confidence, resilience and fortitude demonstrated by these young people is something to behold. It is qualities such as these which will take them far and we have no doubt that our students are moving on to bright futures. Sam After achieving an outstanding A*A*A*A* in Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Further Maths, Sam leaves EMS to study Chemical Engineering at Imperial College, London. This is testament to his hard work and dedication to studies. Max Anne-Marie Harriet Jessica
We are delighted that, as in previous years, many of our students have chosen to pursue degrees and careers that allow them to use their talents in many different fields. Harriet will study Psychology at the University of Leeds after achieving D*BB in Health and Social Care, Psychology and History. Max and Hasna have decided to stay in the North East to study at Newcastle University and Sunderland University respectively. Max moves on to study Computer Science after achieving A*AA in Computer Science, Maths and Further Maths and Hasna is pursing Pharmacy after securing AAB in Biology, Maths and Chemistry. We are equally proud of our exceptionally talented students who pursue apprenticeships, employment or other avenues after completing their studies with us. Following her success in her A Levels of French, Biology, Fashion & Textiles, Anne-Marie moves on to University College London to study French. Anne-Marie has really maximised her college experience as a member of the USA Sutton Trust programme. A fantastic experience which involved her acting as a mentor at a summer school at Boston University after her A Levels. Degree apprenticeships are highly sought after, and Jessica has secured an excellent opportunity to pursue such an apprenticeship with North Tees and Hartlepool NHS Foundation Trust in Nuclear Medicine. Her achievements of A*AB in Geography, Psychology and Biology create an excellent foundation for this. Our vocational offer has supported students to great success. A special mention to our double Digital Media students who were awarded a staggering 7 Distinction stars (D*) and one Distinction between four students. Similarly, our BTEC double Health and Social Care students achieved some fantastic results. Five Distinction stars (D*) and three Distinctions were awarded to four students and on the single BTEC course two Distinction stars (D*) and three Distinctions. Well done to our vocational students on this amazing achievement!
