Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust is a family of schools consisting of 30 Catholic primaries and 5 secondaries, serving the communities of Darlington, County Durham, Stockton and Hartlepool.
The aim of Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust is to provide a practical and moral purpose to the furthering of education, giving strength and a collective responsibility for the educational welfare of pupils in our schools. Pupils are the centre of all decision making and Christ is at the heart of our moral purpose.
Our Trust shapes its collaboration through the fundamental principles of Catholic Social Teaching. School leaders work together for the common good, all pupils feel safe, welcomed and supported with every possible opportunity and staff benefit from a collective approach that respects and values professional agency.
For many pupils, the move from primary to secondary school can feel like stepping into a completely new world. New buildings, new routines, new teachers and a whole host of new opportunities. Within our Trust, we recognise just how important this transition is, and we are committed to making it a positive, exciting and confidence-building experience for every child.
St Cuthbert’s Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool has officially opened its new Helping Hands Hub, offering practical support to families in the local community. On Friday 19th June, the school marked the launch of the initiative with a special celebration attended by pupils, parents, carers, governors, and invited guests. The event began with children performing songs, creating a joyful and welcoming atmosphere.
Students from across the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust came together today, Thursday 18 June, for the annual Trust-wide netball tournament, hosted by The English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College in Hartlepool.

We are proud to offer a wide range of enriching opportunities that go beyond the classroom. All children have access to exciting experiences such as trips abroad through the Turing Scheme, participation in athletic events, and engaging Modern Foreign Language days. We also encourage pupil voice through involvement in our Trust-wide Pupil Parliament, ensuring every child has the chance to develop new skills, build confidence, and create lasting memories.
