Inspiring a Love for Languages Across BHCET

At Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust, we believe that learning a language opens doors - connecting students with other cultures, expanding future career opportunities, and equipping them to live and work confidently in a global world.

Our Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) events bring together pupils from across our schools to celebrate language learning in fun, collaborative, and enriching ways. Whether through immersive workshops, cultural days or shared language challenges, students are given the chance to learn together, build friendships, and deepen their appreciation for global communication.

Celebrating Culture and Connection
Our Trust-wide MFL events not only develop language skills but also broaden cultural understanding. Students explore traditions, cuisine, music and the everyday life of countries where French, Spanish, and other languages are spoken - bringing learning to life beyond the classroom.

Collaboration and Confidence
These events are led by our passionate and experienced language teachers, who work together to deliver high-quality, interactive sessions that boost students’ confidence in speaking and understanding a foreign language. Combining schools also gives pupils a chance to make new friends and practise their language skills with peers from different communities.

Languages for Life
We know that language skills are highly valued by employers and universities. By promoting the importance of MFL through these Trust events, we are helping students see how languages can enhance their future - whether it’s studying abroad, working in international industries or simply navigating an increasingly connected world.

Our commitment to MFL education continues to grow, and we look forward to offering even more exciting cross-school opportunities in the coming academic year.

Languages unlock potential – and we’re proud to celebrate that across our Trust.
