On Wednesday 18th October, some of the staff and pupils from Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust gathered together for our "Christ Lives in Our Trust" event. It was wonderful to welcome newly appointed Bishop Stephen Wright into our Trust community.
Bishop Stephen shared his personal faith journey, which left attendees inspired and deeply moved and the children thoroughly enjoyed asking him insightful questions. Bishop Stephen was gifted original artwork created by the students at St Michael’s Catholic Academy in Billingham. The artwork celebrates the North East of England, of which he is now the Shepherd.
The event included children from our Trust primary and secondary schools, and they assisted us in worship, singing, dancing.
A special moment during our time of prayer was when children led the Hail Mary through choreographed dance. The event coincided with the Feast of St. Luke, and the Gospel message for the day, "Peace to this House," resonated deeply with the attendees. The Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust community closed the celebration by uniting in prayer and thanks.
Mike Shorten, CEO, added, 'It was a joy to see all the Bishop Hogarth Trust schools, singing, dancing and celebrating all the great catholic social teaching work that goes on across the Trust. A real opportunity to celebrate and encounter Christ in so many ways, and it was made all the more special for the children to meet Bishop Stephen'.
