St. John’s Catholic School & Sixth Form College in Bishop Auckland proudly hosted its annual Virtue Awards Evening on Thursday 19th June, bringing together students, staff, families, and community members for a joyful evening of recognition and celebration.

The awards honour students across all year groups who consistently embody the school’s core virtues: Compassion, Confidence, Honesty, Justice, Resilience, Respect, Responsibility, and Self-Belief. The event highlighted not just academic achievement but the character and values that form the foundation of St. John’s ethos.

Headteacher Lisa Byron said,
"Our Virtue Awards are one of the most special moments in our school calendar. They remind us that success is not only measured by results, but by the people our students are becoming - kind, courageous, thoughtful individuals who make a real difference to the world around them."

In addition to year group virtue winners, the evening featured six special awards, celebrating exceptional contributions to school life and the wider community:

  • The Sara Davies Award for Creativity and Innovation – David Bentley, Year 13
