St John’s Catholic School and Sixth Form College, a proud member of the Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust (BHCET), recently welcomed pupils from across its County Durham feeder primary schools to a special performance of Frozen. The event was not only a celebration of student talent but also a testament to the strong links that exist between our Trust’s primary and secondary schools.
The performance showcased the remarkable creativity and dedication of St John’s students, who took to the stage with confidence and professionalism. As a special addition, visiting pupils were invited to join the cast on stage for a celebratory dance, creating a joyful and memorable experience for all involved.
Events like this reflect the unique opportunities available to schools within the BHCET family. The collaboration between primary and secondary settings ensures that younger pupils become familiar with their next steps in education, easing the transition process and fostering a sense of community, confidence, and continuity.
Assistant Headteacher of St John’s, Natalie Rose commented:
"We were delighted to welcome our local primary schools to St John’s. The performance was a celebration of the talent within our school, but more importantly, it allowed younger pupils to feel part of something bigger. These relationships are vital as we support children on their educational journey within our Trust."
As part of BHCET, schools benefit from shared values, close collaboration, and a commitment to providing high-quality Catholic education from Early Years through to Sixth Form. This event serves as one example of how being part of a strong, supportive Trust can enrich the educational experience for all pupils.
