Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust is thrilled to announce the launch of an exciting new initiative: Media Correspondents in every school across our Trust family.
Developed by our Marketing, Media and Communications (MMC) team, the idea is simple but powerful - to give pupils the opportunity to become storytellers for their school. Each Media Correspondent will play a key role in capturing the everyday moments, achievements and hidden gems that make their school community unique. From classroom creativity to sporting success, eco projects, charity events and everything in between, our new student reporters will help shine a light on stories that may have otherwise gone untold.
A Fantastic Response From Pupils
The MMC team was overwhelmed by the level of interest shown across all schools. Applications poured in, and the standard was exceptional - filled with passion, creativity and a clear enthusiasm for sharing school life. With so many brilliant entries, selecting just a handful of correspondents was no easy task.
These outstanding students will now step into their new roles, helping to bring a fresh, fun and authentic student perspective to news from within our Trust.
Training, Creativity and Hands-On Journalism
The MMC team will be meeting with each of the selected Media Correspondents. These sessions will give pupils:
- A chance to explore story ideas
- Opportunities to ask questions about reporting, photography and media
- A closer look at the professional kit - including cameras and other equipment
These meetings will help prepare our young journalists for capturing and sharing the stories that matter most to them and their school communities. The selected pupils will be awarded a special Media Correspondent badge - a symbol of their achievement that they can wear with pride!
Looking Ahead
The Media Correspondent initiative marks an exciting step in elevating student voice across our Trust. By empowering pupils to tell their own stories, we hope to celebrate the vibrancy, talent and creativity that fills every one of our schools.
We can’t wait to see the news, photos and unique perspectives our new correspondents bring to life.
Watch this space - the next generation of storytellers has arrived!
