Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Academy in Billingham is delighted to announce the grand opening of their brand-new library, an inspiring and relaxing space designed to encourage a love of reading and allow their pupils to explore a wide range of genres which will appeal to all. The school had been overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of parents and the local community who have donated brand-new books to fill the new space.
Reading is so important in so many different ways... It can open the door to a whole new world of wonder, excitement, awe and mystery with every page that is turned.
The new library at Holy Rosary is more than just a collection of books, it highlights the school’s commitment to promoting reading for all ages and nurturing a culture of learning and curiosity. It’s designed to be a welcoming and stimulating environment where students can develop their reading skills, expand their vocabulary, and enjoy the simple pleasure of getting lost in a good book. This new facility will serve as a hub of learning and creativity, fostering a lifelong love of reading in every child.
Holy Rosary is dedicated to creating an environment where every child feels inspired, supported, and empowered to achieve their best. The addition of the new library is a testament to their ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality education for all their pupils.
Headteacher, Lucy Flaherty said ”Thank you to all of our families for your book donations. We have been overwhelmed by your kindness and generosity. We now have a wide range of genres, to inspire and capture the interest in all of our children. Holy Rosary's new library is a truly magical space. It is wonderful to see the children's eyes light up as they explore the enchanted walls and curl up on a bean bag to read their favourite book.”
