Congratulations to our incredible Year 11 students on their achievements this year. As we reflect upon their time with us, we are filled with immense pride. The strength, resilience and fortitude demonstrated by these young people is something to behold. It is qualities such as these which will take them far and we have no doubt that our students are moving on to bright futures. Our students demonstrated their excellent skills and knowledge in these summer examinations. We, as a school, are extremely proud of our students and the results they have achieved. There are so many students who have achieved outstanding results and individual success and we are extremely proud of them all. We are also overjoyed that so many of our students are returning to study a range of A Level and BTEC qualifications with us in our highly successful sixth form.

Civ and Ellie are celebrating their hard work after collecting excellent results. Civ achieved 11 Grade 9s, achieving the highest grade in all of his subjects whilst Ellie achieved 6 Grade 9s and 5 Grade 8s. Both students will continue their studies with us and return to EMS6 with Civ studying Biology, Chemistry and Maths and Ellie studying Maths, Further Maths and Chemistry.

Bridget, a talented musician who has performed in various musical events in her time at EMS, was overjoyed at collecting her 10 GCSEs in which 7 of the grades where at Grade 9. A brilliant set of results. Noah, who has had a very successful journey on the Improtech football team reaching the national finals, secured 10 GCSEs and goes on to a scholarship with Hartlepool United. We wish him well.

Throughout her time at English Martyrs, Gianna has worked extremely hard and made an excellent contribution to school life. As well as being committed to her studies, she has been involved in some sterling work in relation to our Anti-Bullying Group. With 7 GCSEs at Grades 9-4, including Distinction* in Hospitality and Catering, Gianna will go on to pursue her ambitions to become a Mental Health Nurse.

We have been privileged to watch Zoe’s development over the past 5 years. Zoe has achieved 9 Grade 7-9s and we look forward to when she continues her studies with us at EMS6, in English Literature and Psychology.

It was smiling faces all around for students, Travis, Annabelle, Harry, Em, Ava and Nicole as they celebrated brilliant results which collectively contained 30 GCSE grades at the top levels of 9 and 8.

Head of School Colette Hogarth said: “We are extremely proud of all of our students and will follow their futures with interest. We are delighted that many of them will choose to continue their journey with us into Sixth Form. I want to take this opportunity to thank the students, parents and staff for all of their hard work and continuous support. We wish all of our students good luck in the future”.
