Blessed John Duckett Catholic Primary School in Tow Law is celebrating a fantastic Ofsted report, having been rated Good in four areas, with Outstanding for its Early Years provision.

Inspectors praised the school for its strong sense of community and high standards, noting that “Pupils thrive in the family atmosphere of this small, friendly school,” and that “The school has the highest ambition for all pupils, both in their learning and behaviour.”

Early Years provision at the school was rated Outstanding, with the report highlighting that “Children benefit from a well-designed curriculum in the early years. Staff make sure that children get off to a flying start.” Ofsted also recognised the school’s commitment to developing the whole child, stating that “The school offers pupils a range of wider opportunities. These excite and engage pupils while enhancing their learning.”

Headteacher Miss Jenna Ellison said, “I am delighted that our pupils hard work and exceptional behaviour shone through in our recent Ofsted inspection. I am especially proud of our youngest pupils who show a love for learning and amaze us every day and the EYFS staff who create an 'awe and wonder' atmosphere and support children so well. The family atmosphere and excellent relationships between staff and our school community is what makes Blessed John Duckett such a unique and special place to learn and grow for our children.”

Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust is extremely proud of Blessed John Duckett’s achievements and has every confidence that the school will continue to flourish and deliver excellence in education for every pupil.
