Sacred Heart Catholic Primary School in Hartlepool have been celebrating a fantastic term of sporting success and participation, where pupils across all year groups have embraced opportunity, teamwork, and determination. The school’s sporting calendar has been full of exciting events and achievements. Year 4 pupils enjoyed dynamic basketball coaching sessions delivered by the Teesside Huskies, developing both their skills and their confidence on the court.

Year 6 students took to the pitch for a cricket development session at English Martyrs Catholic School and Sixth Form College, where they gained hands-on experience and deepened their understanding of the game. In competitive events, Sacred Heart’s Year 4 skipping team soared to success, securing first place at their festival and a well-earned place in the finals. Meanwhile, the Year 3 tennis team showcased impressive talent and sportsmanship, finishing second in the town finals — a fantastic accomplishment. The school’s football teams also had plenty to celebrate. The Year 5/6 girls’ football team lifted the Town Cup in a memorable final at Victoria Park, while Year 1/2 girls experienced the joy of sport through a Disney-themed football session, filled with fun and smiles. BHCET would like to thank Sacred Heart’s dedicated Sports Leaders, Miss Welsh and Mrs Evans, whose hard work and encouragement have helped deliver such a positive term of activity and achievement.
