Students at St Michael's Catholic Academy are celebrating GCSE success, with achievements in leadership, sport and academic excellence opening doors to exciting futures.
Among those celebrating is Dexter, who leaves the school having made his mark both academically and as a student leader. The youngest of four siblings to attend St Michael's, Dexter followed in the footsteps of his older brother and two sisters, but became the first in his family to serve as Head Boy.
Alongside achieving outstanding GCSE results, including Grade 9s in Maths and Physics and Grade 8s in History, Biology, Chemistry and Religious Education, Dexter dedicated much of his time to supporting others.
He played a key role in promoting young men's mental health, raising money and awareness for the Headlight Project, a Teesside-based men's mental health charity. As Head Boy, he acted as a mentor and role model to younger students, visiting primary schools to help children prepare for the transition to secondary education and representing the school at official events.
Reflecting on the experience, Dexter described his time as Head Boy as "fun, challenging and enriching", adding that it would help him in the future.
He will now continue pursuing his passion for mathematics at Bede Sixth Form College, where he plans to study Maths, Physics and Biology A-Levels, alongside an AS-Level in Further Maths.
Also celebrating is talented footballer Martin, whose passion for the game has been matched by his enthusiasm for mathematics during his time at St Michael's. A two-time league champion with Billingham United, Martin is no stranger to success. He secured Grade 9s in Biology and Physics, narrowly missing a Grade 9 in Chemistry by just one mark.
Although he admitted he had hoped for all Grade 9s across the sciences, Martin said he was "reasonably happy" with his results.
His ambition is to pursue a career in Finance, Economics or Mathematics, and he believes his strong academic performance has left him with plenty of options. Fortunately, he won't have to choose between football and maths just yet. Martin will also progress to Bede Sixth Form College, where he plans to study Maths, Further Maths and Physics at A-Level.
Meanwhile, twins Amelia and Layla are planning to continue their educational journey side by side after collecting an impressive set of GCSE results.
Layla was "relieved" after achieving five Grade 9s, two Grade 8s, a Grade 7 and a Grade 6, while Amelia was "delighted" with three Grade 9s, a Grade 8, two Grade 7s, a Grade 6 and a Distinction in Health & Social Care.
The sisters will both move on to Bede Sixth Form College, where they plan to study Biology, Psychology and Chemistry. While they intend to stay together for the next stage of their education, they recognise their paths may eventually diverge. Amelia hopes to study Medicine and become a doctor, while Layla is considering a range of options and has ambitions to attend either Oxford or Cambridge University.
Their parents said they were incredibly proud of both daughters and thanked them for all their hard work, as well as expressing their gratitude to the school for its support.
Together, Martin, Dexter, Amelia and Layla reflect the breadth of talent at St Michael's, with students leaving the academy to pursue futures in leadership, mathematics, medicine, finance and beyond.
