Students from across Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust have been celebrating the end of an important chapter in their educational journey with a series of memorable prom and leavers' events.

Following months of hard work, dedication and determination throughout their GCSE and A-Level studies, Year 11 and Year 13 students came together to mark their achievements with friends and staff before embarking on the next stage of their education and careers.

St Michael’s Catholic Academy and Our Lady & St Bede Catholic Academy both enjoyed spectacular Year 11 proms at Wynyard Hall, while English Martyrs Catholic School students celebrated at Hardwick Hall. Carmel College's Year 11 prom was held at Bradbury Glade, and St John’s Catholic School students came together at The Hammer and Pincers for an evening of celebration.

Meanwhile, St John’s Year 13 students marked the end of their sixth form journey with a special BBQ at Durham Rugby Club, students from EM6 enjoyed a fantastic gathering at Wynyard Golf Club, and Carmel College Year 13 students celebrated their time together with a leavers' event at Redworth Hall Hotel.

The events provided an opportunity for students to reflect on their achievements, celebrate friendships and create lasting memories as they look ahead to exciting futures.

Everyone across our Trust is incredibly proud of the resilience, commitment and hard work shown by this cohort of Year 11 and Year 13 students. From examinations and coursework to enrichment activities and personal achievements, they have represented their schools with pride throughout the year.

We would like to wish all students the very best for the future and thank the staff, families and event organisers who helped make these celebrations so special.

Congratulations to the Class of 2026 – we hope you all had a fantastic evening and every success in the years ahead!
