Students from across Bishop Hogarth Catholic Education Trust (BHCET) came together on Thursday 4 June for our much-anticipated annual athletics competition, held at Middlesbrough Sports Village.
Pupils in Years 7 to 10 from all five BHCET secondary schools took part in a full programme of track and field events, showcasing outstanding determination, teamwork and sporting talent throughout the day.
The event is a highlight of the school calendar and is eagerly anticipated each year by both students and staff. This year’s competition was no exception, with a fantastic atmosphere, strong participation and many memorable performances across a range of events.
Throughout the day, students competed in events including sprints, middle-distance races, relays, jumps and throws, demonstrating both individual excellence and strong team spirit. A number of standout performances reflected the depth of athletic ability across our Trust.
At the end of a closely contested competition, results were as follows:
- Overall School Winners: Carmel College
- U13 Girls Winners: EMS
- U13 Boys Winners: Carmel College
- U15 Girls Winners: St John’s
- U15 Boys Winners: Carmel College
The event highlighted not only the competitive spirit of the students but also the strong sense of community across BHCET schools.
